Making A Simple Brunch, Soiree Brilliant

Saturday brunch is a favorite in our household and is something I look forward to almost every weekend. This past weekend I decided to host a Valentine’s Soiree & Brunch at my home. I really wanted this brunch to feel more like a party, and less like your everyday Saturday brunch (although going out for brunch is always such a treat!). I didn’t want to spend a million dollars for the small event, but I wanted my guests to feel like a million bucks. Here are a few tips on how you can make a simple brunch, soiree brilliant!

Decor

Instead of the usual place setting, add a little something extra to your table or home decor that fits with the theme of your party. Little details can go a long way. With a sprinkle of heart confetti, a beautiful feminine bouquet from Trader Joes, name tags, and extra pops of Valentine’s colors on the table, I was able to take my tablescape from everyday to soiree brilliant!

Any event, big or small, requires some sort of menu. Of course with most of the parties I host, food is the main attraction (hence, brunch), but it doesn’t always need to be the main focus!

Presentation

With any soiree or get together, presentation is key! Presentation begins with the invitation. While some may think the use of paper invitations is extinct, I feel like sending invites in the mail adds a special touch to any party, way before the event even begins!

In addition, presenting your food, activities, home, tablescape, decor, etc. can really help your guests feel really special. The small details, like the mini pancakes in the paper ramekins or the heart stamped paper straws, don’t go unnoticed!

Activity & The Take-Away

To make a get-together more of a party, implement some sort of activity or game into the event schedule. An activity helps unite the guests and ensures that everyone feels included. Near the close of my Valentine’s Soiree & Brunch, we all passed our name cards, which doubled as bookmarks, in a circle and wrote what we loved most about each person. It was fitting to the event and it gave everyone a little something to take home so they could remember their 2016 Valentine’s Day!

I also sent each couple home with a bag full of their favorite chocolates and a couples Valentine’s card game. Party favors are never required, but are always so much appreciated by your guests, especially if they are heartfelt.

Making a simple brunch, soiree brilliant isn’t as hard as it seems! Stick to these few tips and you’re on your way to making your next get-together with your friends, soiree perfect.
